Eataly Imports in Saugus to Become a Restaurant

by Marc Hurwitz

A specialty food shop north of Boston is planning to change into a full-service restaurant.

The Saugus Advertiser is reporting that Eataly Imports in Saugus is looking to turn its current store into a 62-seat dining spot that offers sandwiches, pasta dishes, and more, while also possibly featuring karaoke as well. The article mentions that the business has been operating as a food store offering Italian goods and specialty items for the past 10 months.

It doesn't appear that Eataly Imports has any sort of connection to Eataly, a group of Italian emporiums that has a location at the Prudential Center in Boston's Back Bay.

The address for Eataly Imports is 184 Broadway (Route 1), Saugus, MA, 01906. Its Facebook page can be found at https://www.facebook.com/Eataly-Imports-1008479829294047/

[July 16 update: It looks like Eataly Imports will be changing its name as it morphs into a restaurant, with a new post from the Saugus Advertiser indicating that it could be named Barra Grezza Italiano Ristorante while a Twitter page for the place calls it Barra Grezza Raw Bar & Italian Ristorante.]
