LongHorn Steakhouse Planning to Open in Saugus

by Marc Hurwitz

It looks like a casual chain of steakhouses will eventually have an outlet inside Route 128 once again.

The Saugus Advertiser is reporting that LongHorn Steakhouse is planning to open at the Sears Auto Center center on Route 1, with the restaurant possibly having 6,405 square feet of space and seating for 192. If all goes as planned, the Saugus outlet of the dining spot could be opening toward the end of 2019 or the beginning of 2020.

As reported here earlier, a location of LongHorn Steakhouse at the Landmark Center in Boston's Fenway closed in 2015; this was the only outlet inside Route 128, though a location in Reading is just on the other side of the highway. Other LongHorn restaurants can be found in Tewksbury, Pembroke, Mansfield, Franklin, Marlborough, along with others a bit further out.

[November 12 update: The Saugus Advertiser indicates that LongHorn Steakhouse is one step closer to opening in Saugus, as the Planning Board approved a site plan review permit for the place. It looks like construction will now begin on the place during the first quarter of 2019, and the restaurant is expected to have seating for 192.]
