The Old Timer Restaurant in Clinton Is Reopening

by Marc Hurwitz

An historic restaurant/bar west of Boston--and a longtime fave--that closed a couple of years ago after nearly a century in business is returning.

According to multiple posts on its Facebook page, The Old Timer Restaurant in Clinton is planning to reopen, with comments within the page indicating that it has been taken over by new owners while photos posted show that the space appears to be going through renovations and updates. It is not known when The Old Timer might reopen, nor is it known how similar the menu might be to that of the original restaurant; as soon as we find out more, we will post an update here.

The Old Timer, which had been open for approximately 87 years until closing down in early 2016, was a place that our sister site (Boston's Hidden Restaurants) had featured as an under-the-radar spot to go to for American classics, comfort food, pub grub, and drinks. The review can be found at this link:

The address for The Old Timer Restaurant is 155 Church Street, Clinton, MA, 01510.

[November 2 update: A Facebook post from the place indicates that The Old Timer Restaurant is now open once again.]
