[Ed note: This article was updated on October 11 to reflect the fact that a new spot has temporarily moved into the space.]

A trio of ice cream shops whose name dates back to the 1800s is back down to two locations.

According to a Facebook post from the business, Bedford Farms at 3rd Ave in Burlington has closed, with the note saying that "We are heading back to our roots and look forward to serving and supporting the community for many years to come at our Bedford and Concord shops." The Burlington outlet first opened its doors in 2015.

Bedford Farms got its start as a dairy business in the 19th century, with the company starting to make ice cream in the late 1940s and 1950s, according to its website.

The address for the now-closed Bedford Farms in Burlington was 19 3rd Ave, Burlington, MA, 01803. The website for the business can be found at https://www.bedfordfarmsicecream.com/
