Boston Common Coffee Co. Has Closed Its Washington Street Location in Downtown Crossing

by Marc Hurwitz

A local group of independent coffee roasters and retailers has closed another one of its locations, leaving the company with two shops remaining.

According to a tweet from @FortPointer and another Twitter post from @I3Moore, Boston Common Coffee Co. on Washington Street in Downtown Crossing is no longer in business, with a note out front indicating that the place closed on Friday and that "We apologize for such short notice as we continued exploring every option available to us right up to the last moment." The note refers customers to its locations on High Street in the Financial District and Canal Street in the North Station/West End area. (Another shop had been located on Salem Street in the North End, but it closed in the fall of 2016.)

The Washington Street location of Boston Common Coffee Co. had been in business for 10 years.

The address for this now-closed coffee shop in Downtown Crossing was: Boston Common Coffee Co., 515 Washington Street, Boston, MA, 02111. The website for the company can be found at http://bostoncommoncoffee.com/
