Thai Bar Shi Is Opening in Former Chile Mango & Lime Space in Weymouth

by Marc Hurwitz

A new Asian restaurant is on its way to the South Shore, and it will be taking over the space where a Thai and Bangladeshi eatery had been.

According to a poster on the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page, Thai Bar Shi is planning to open in Weymouth, moving into the old Chile Mango & Lime space on Washington Street. The Facebook page for the upcoming spot mentions that it will offer Thai food and Japanese fare (including sushi) and that it will be soft opening soon, possibly sometime this month.

Chile Mango & Lime closed in the spring of 2017 after being in business for less than a year; the business had started out as a food truck before being joined by its brick-and-mortar restaurant.

The address for this new Asian eatery in Weymouth is: Thai Bar Shi, 336 Washington Street (Route 53), Weymouth, MA, 02188. Its Facebook page can be found at https://www.facebook.com/ThaiBarShi/

[October 30 update: An Instagram post indicates that Thai Bar Shi now is open, with the place soft-opening over the past weekend.]
