Weltkuche Bistro Is Opening at Cambridge Crossing in East Cambridge

A couple of years ago, it was reported that a new complex in East Cambridge could include multiple restaurants, and one of the proposed dining spots was subsequently announced a few months ago. Now we have learned of another restaurant that plans to open around the space.

According to a licensing commission hearing page within the City of Cambridge website, Weltkuche Bistro is looking to open in the Cambridge Crossing area (formerly NorthPoint by the Somerville and Charlestown lines), with the proposed eatery possibly including seating for 65 inside and another 30 on a seasonal outdoor patio, and it also hopes to get an entertainment license in order to offer karaoke and music via a DJ. The manager listed for the dining spot is Narinder Guhania, who is presumably the same person who runs Passage to India in Porter Square, though we are still trying to confirm this.

In May, we learned that Will Gilson (Puritan & Co., Cafe Beatrice) was planning to open a new restaurant, cafe, and cocktail bar at Cambridge Crossing as well.

The address for Weltkuche Bistro is 5 Glassworks Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02141.

[April 24, 2020 update: Eater Boston states that Weltkuche Bistro is now open (though only for takeout and delivery), with the place offering an eclectic menu that includes such items as Korean short rib fried rice, mushroom risotto, paneer tikka masala, bacon macaroni and cheese, and beer and wine. A source tells us that the new eatery is located adjacent to Cambridge Crossing rather than within the complex itself.]
