Angelo's Coal Fired Pizza in Quincy Has Closed

One of the relatively few options for coal-fired pizza in the Greater Boston area has shut down, and it is not yet known what might become of the space.

According to a couple of sources, Angelo's Coal Fired Pizza in Quincy has closed, with calls placed to the Hancock Street dining spot not being answered yesterday or today. No reason has been given for the closure, nor is it known whether it could open back up again--or if another restaurant might take over the space. (Stay tuned for updates as they come in.)

Angelo's Coal Fired Pizza first opened in the fall of 2014, taking over the space where Remick's had been, and before that, Finian's.

The address for this now-closed pizzeria in Quincy was: Angelo's Coal Fired Pizza, 1657 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA, 02169.

[November 12 update: A Facebook post from the place confirms that Angelo's Coal Fired Pizza has closed for good, as it says that gift cards will be accepted at The Chantey in Marina Bay through November 30.]
