Dosa Temple Is Opening in Somerville

An Indian restaurant that is located in the MetroWest area of Eastern Massachusetts is opening a second location closer to Boston.

An email sent to us indicates that Dosa Temple in Ashland is planning to open a new spot on Somerville Avenue in Somerville. A check on the City of Somerville website confirms this, as a Licensing Commission meeting included discussion of a Common Victualer License for the new restaurant. Once it opens, expect Dosa Temple to focus on South Indian fare, including dosas, paratha (multi-layer bread), uthappam (a type of dosa), idli (rice cake), and biryani. The Ashland location is a vegetarian restaurant, so it is possible that the Somerville one will be as well.

[August 10 update: An email from the restaurant that was forwarded to us indicates that the new Dosa Temple in Somerville plans to open in late August or early September.]

[December 20 update: According to one of our posters (see below)--and confirmed by us--Dosa Temple is now open in Somerville.]

The address for this new Indian restaurant in Somerville is: Dosa Temple, 447 Somerville Avenue, Somerville, MA, 02143. The Ashland location is at 59 Pond Street (Route 126), with their website being at http://dosatemple.com/
