Pulse Cafe in Somerville Is Closing

It looks like a vegan restaurant on the outer edge of Somerville's Davis Square will not be around much longer, as it is up for sale.

According to several conversations on their Facebook page, The Pulse Cafe on Elm Street is looking for a buyer, and notes from the person behind the page indicate that the restaurant might be open for only a few more weeks (or longer until they can find a buyer who will take over the space). The Pulse Cafe first opened in the winter of 2010, having moved from Malden, where it was called Vej Naturals. The organic vegan spot, which operates in the space where Joey's Thai Cafe had once been, features such items as buffalo tofu bites, enchiladas, country-fried seitan, a tempeh reuben, seared kale, and veggie scrambles.

[November 20 update: According to their Facebook page, The Pulse Cafe is going to be closing its doors today.]

[November 22 update: According to Eater Boston, the baker from the now-closed Pulse Cafe is looking at opening a vegan bakery somewhere in the Boston area. More information should be coming soon, so check back for updates.]

The address for this Davis Square restaurant is: The Pulse Cafe, 195 Elm Street, Somerville, MA, 02144. The phone number is (617) 625-1730. And their website can be found at: http://www.thepulsecafe.com/

Thanks to a poster on the Chowhound site for bringing this to our attention.
