A popular restaurant and bar in the shadows of Boston's Fenway Park is planning to open a second location, though it will be a good distance south of the home of the Red Sox.
The Marshfield Mariner reports that the Cask & Flagon at the corner of Brookline Avenue and Lansdowne Street is looking to open in Marshfield on the South Shore, taking over the Plain Street space where AA Buffet used to be until closing last year. The article mentions that the new eatery will not have live bands or dancing (as the previous restaurant had), though it may have a weekend brunch possibly with a guitarist performing live music. It appears that the new Cask & Flagon's menu might be just a bit different from that of the Fenway location, and prices may be a little lower.
If all goes as planned, the new Marshfield restaurant could be open by late summer.
[October 3 update: A post on the Mayflower Brewing Company's Facebook page indicates that the new Cask & Flagon in Marshfield is now open.]
The address for this new dining spot in Marshfield is: Cask & Flagon, 804 Plain Street (Route 139), Marshfield, MA, 02050. The website for the original Cask can be found at http://www.casknflagon.com/
