GQ's Ice Cream Picks Include Three Shops in the Boston Area

An award-winning food writer for GQ magazine has come out with his picks of "10 ice cream shops you need to visit" in the United States, and nearly a third of them are located in the Boston area.

Alan Richman's article on ice cream places to go to includes Toscanini's in Cambridge's Central Square, J.P. Licks in Jamaica Plain, and Christina's Homemade Ice Cream in the Inman Square section of Cambridge, with a fourth Massachusetts spot also making the list--Herrell's in Northampton. Richman's picks for ice cream at the three Boston-area spots include pink grapefruit sorbet at Toscanini's, rum raisin at J.P. Licks, and lime-jalapeno-tequila sorbet at Christina's, with the Herrell's pick being chocolate pudding.

Two other East Coast ice cream shops made the list as well--Bischoff's in Teaneck, NJ and The Bent Spoon in Princeton, NJ.
