Sushi Island in Wakefield Is Closing
It looks like a Japanese restaurant in a northern suburb of Boston is shutting its doors.
According to a poster on the Chowhound site, Sushi Island in Wakefield is closing, with an article in the Wakefield Patch confirming this, saying that Sunday is its last day in operation. The Patch article mentions that the Main Street eatery may be replaced by a new spot called Sakura Organic, and that the Sushi Island owners "will likely pursue other restaurant opportunities," possibly a smaller dining spot, based on what the Chowhound poster says.
Sushi Island has been in business for approximately 15 years.
The address for this restaurant in Wakefield was: Sushi Island, 397 Main Street, Wakefield, MA, 01880.
