The Restaurant Hub blog of The Boston Globe is reporting that DooWee & Rice is going to be coming back to its former home (and future home of Teriyaki House) on Broadway in the Powderhouse Square section of the city for what looks to be a short time, with a Facebook post from the dining spot saying that this will be a temporary pop up while it waits for renovations at its new home within the Wonder Bar in Allston to be completed (possibly less than a month). The menu will include old favorites along with a few new items, with hours for now being Wednesdays through Fridays from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Please note that the restaurant will be offering dine-in and takeout only, with no deliveries being available.
[February 21 update: A new Facebook post from the restaurant indicates that DooWee & Rice has officially reopened in its former (and temporary) home.]
[March 3 update: Eater Boston mentions that a "mini DooWee & Rice menu" will be offered at the upcoming Teriyaki House, which will be taking over the restaurant's old space in Powderhouse Square. The article says that the DooWee owner Duy Tran's sous chef will be in charge of the menu. (It is not yet known when Teriyaki House will open.)]
DooWee & Rice closed last November after being in business for a bit more than a year.
The address for the temporary home of DooWee & Rice is 868 Broadway, Somerville, MA, 02144.
