According to a Facebook post from yesterday, Precinct Bar in Union Square has shut its doors for the time being, with the note saying that "We will be undergoing a renovation for the next month," with the post also mentioning that "We are committed to enhancing our Food, Drink, and overall guest experience." The exact changes coming to the spot are not yet known, but a poster on the Chowhound site mentioned several months ago that Precinct will "cease to be a live music venue and will have more of a focused F&B program." (This has not yet been confirmed.)
Precinct Bar resides in a basement space that had formerly been home to the Somerville Police Department.
