Don Law Group Purchases Union Square Post Office in Somerville; Could Become Arts Venue with Restaurant

An investor group run by a well-known name on the local music scene has purchased an historic structure in Somerville--and it could become some sort of an arts venue with a dining spot possibly being part of it.

According to an post in Vanyaland and another article in the Somerville Journal, Union Square Partners LLC, which is run by music promoter Don Law, has bought the old Union Square Post Office on Washington Street. As of now, no specific plans are in place for the building, though it appears that it could become an arts venue with a restaurant or cafe residing within the landmark structure. The former post office was built in the 1930s and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, according to Vanyaland.

Don Law is currently involved with such venues as the Paradise, the Brighton Music Hall, and the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion.

The address for the old Union Square Post Office is 237 Washington Street, Somerville, MA, 02143.
