According to a Twitter post from @ConciergeBoston, Modern Underground has opened below Modern Pastry in the North End, with the drinking spot being underneath the new space that the shop expanded into this this past spring. The sign out front indicates that the new bar features appetizers, burgers, and beer, and that games can be seen on TV as well. While the sign seems to call the place "Modern Pastry Underground," an earlier article from Dirty Water News says that its exact name is apparently "The Modern Underground."
[December 15 update: Eater Boston mentions that the new Modern Underground bar has limited hours, with the place being open from 4:00 PM to midnight Thursday through Sunday. (EB also says that wine and mixed drinks are available as well, along with other food items such as steak tips, wings, and nachos.)]
Modern Pastry takes up two storefronts on Hanover Street, with the original store being a pastry shop and the newer store being more of a bakery-cafe with seating. Another location can also be found in Medford.
The address for Modern Underground is 263 Hanover Street, Boston, MA, 02113. The website for Modern Pastry can be found at http://www.modernpastry.com/
