Sal's Pizza May Be Reopening in New Location in Boston's Fenway Neighborhood

Last summer, we reported that a local chain of pizza places and Italian restaurants had closed one of its Boston locations. Now we have learned that this may be more of a move rather than a closing.

According to a Licensing Board page within the City of Boston website, Sal's Pizza is looking to move from its now-shuttered space at 132 Brookline Avenue to a new location at 51 Brookline Avenue, with the new spot having seating for 49 and just under 700 square feet of space. It appeared that the Fenway location of Sal's had permanently closed last July, as a note on their website said it had indeed shut down, though the note said to keep a "lookout" for a new pizza truck (little information on the proposed truck has come out since then).

The Fenway location of Sal's first opened in May of 2011, joining a number of locations of Sal's Pizza as well as a group of Italian restaurants called Salvatore's. (The website for the chain of pizza spots is: http://www.sals-pizza.com/)
