Cafe Anthony Is Opening in Cambridge; Taking Over Simon's Too Space

A new cafe is on its way to Cambridge, and it will be opening in the space where a coffee shop currently resides.

According to a License Commission General Hearing page within the City of Cambridge website, Cafe Anthony is seeking a common victualer license to operate on Mass. Ave. between Harvard Square and Central Square. The address given for the proposed eatery is the same as that of Simon's Too, a coffee place that opened in the fall of 2012; it has not been confirmed if Cafe Anthony would be taking over the Simon's Too space or moving into the same building; as soon as we find out more, we will post an update here.

If Cafe Anthony does get approval to open, it would have seating for 26 and would tentatively be open from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM seven days a week, according to the hearing page.

[April 28 update: According to a source who works for the city, Simon's Too is now closed.]

[June 3  update: A poster on the Chowhound site mentions that Cafe Anthony is now open in the former Simon's Too space.]

The address for this new spot in Cambridge is 983 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02138.
