Cheeburger Cheeburger in Swampscott Seized by County Sheriff

A burger place on the North Shore has been seized for unspecified reasons--and it looks like it may never reopen.

According to an article in The Swampscott Reporter, Cheeburger Cheeburger on Paradise Road in Vinnin Square was seized last month by the Essex County Sheriff's Department, with the deputies having "perfected an eviction and levy of personal property per the landlord." The article says that the Florida-based chain of burger places could not be reached for a statement on the situation, and the landlord cannot comment on why the seizure took place. Swampscott Town Administrator Tom Younger hints that Cheeburger Cheeburger may have been evicted for non-payment of taxes, expenses, or rent, but it was not related to money that was owed to the town. It appears that the closing of Cheeburger Cheeburger in Swampscott is permanent, as the chain has taken this location off its website, according to the Reporter.

Cheeburger Cheeburger first opened in May of 2014, offering an array of burger combinations as well as shake combinations.

The address for this now-closed burger spot in Swampscott was: Cheeburger Cheeburger, 435 Paradise Road, Swampscott, MA, 01907. The website for the chain can be found at http://cheeburger.com/
