Heavenly Licks in Melrose Loses Its Home; Looking for New Location

A popular ice cream shop that has been in business for nearly 30 years has lost its home and is now in need of a new space.

The Melrose Free Press is reporting (via a Facebook post from the place) that Heavenly Licks has had to leave its shop on West Wyoming Avenue, with owner Kara Conley saying that the building's owner has other plans for the space and that the store would have to go. According to the article, Conley was unaware that she did not have a lease on the space, instead being a tenant-at will. Equipment from Heavenly Licks is now in storage while Conley looks for a new home, and while she would like to stay in Melrose, she would be willing to move to a nearby community if necessary.

Heavenly Licks, which first opened in the late 1980s, has been known for its variety of ice cream flavors along with frozen yogurt, Italian slush, and sherbet.

The former address for Heavenly Licks was 40 W Wyoming Avenue, Melrose, MA, 02176.
