STK Rebel Plans to Open at One Seaport Square in Boston

A small NYC-based group of "female-friendly" steakhouses is coming to one of the hottest parts of Boston for dining.

The Boston Globe is reporting that The One Group Hospitality Inc. is planning to open STK Rebel at One Seaport Square in the city's Seaport District, with the Rebel concept being a less expensive alternative to the locations that are simply called STK. The article says that the new spot will include seating for 220 on the first floor, a private dining section upstairs, and a live DJ that will play light rock from the 1970s and 1980s. One Group Hospitality CEO and founder Jonathan Segal says of STK, "We went into this with the sole intention to create a different steakhouse that appealed to the female market....If you want to make a lot of money in this world, focus on the female market and women, because men only get to make 3 percent of the decisions."

STK currently has 10 locations, including two in Manhattan, where it is headquartered; more locations of STK and STK Rebel are in the works in addition to the Boston outlet, including locations of STK Rebel in Austin, Denver, and Miami.
