Franklin Restaurant Group to Open Deli and Restaurant in Allston

A local restaurant group that is behind three different concepts in the Boston area will soon have a fourth, and this one will apparently focus on classic comfort food items.

According to a job post within the Craigslist site, the Franklin Restaurant Group is planning to open a "modern deli and full service restaurant" somewhere in Lower Allston, which is the area mostly north of the Mass. Pike heading toward the Charles River and Cambridge. The post says that the upcoming spot will feature "Classic Jewish Deli food twisted modern, a deep craft cocktail program and a beautifully designed space including patio seating, wine loft, dining room and retail area," with the place looking to open in the late summer. As soon as we find out the name of the deli/restaurant as well as an exact address, we will post an update here.

[February 12 update: Based on an article from Eater Boston, it looks like the deli from the Franklin Restaurant Group may be coming to 197 North Harvard Street, which would apparently put it in the Continuum luxury apartment development.]

The Franklin Restaurant Group is behind the Franklin Cafe in Boston's South End and Gloucester, The Citizen Public House and Oyster Bar in the Fenway, and Tasty Burger in the Fenway, Back Bay Station, Cambridge's Harvard Square, South Boston, and soon, Dudley Square in Roxbury. Its website can be found at http://presskit.franklincafe.com/
