According to a license commission general hearing page within the city of Cambridge website, a dining spot originally called Launch will now be called Glass House, and it is still planning to open at 450 Kendall Street, while another eatery called K2 Cafe is being proposed for 500 Kendall Street. The names mentioned in both listings--Thomas Shea and Austin O'Connor, respectively--are behind The Briar Group, which operates Solas, The Green Briar, O'Connor's, Anthem, Ned Devine's, City Table, City Bar, The Harp, Brew, and Gather. Earlier, it was mentioned that Glass House would be a restaurant including a flexible space that could be used for meetings, presentations, classes, and more, while the hearing notice for K2 Cafe indicates that it may be a breakfast and lunch spot with hours being 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.
As soon as we find out more information on both Glass House and K2 Cafe, we will post an update here.
[July 14 update: Eater Boston states that K2 Cafe is now open, and that it offers a variety of coffee options along with tea, smoothies, and food items such as salads, sandwiches, and "spudboats," or loaded baked potatoes. (There is no word on the progress of Glass House as of yet.)]
[October 3 update: A new post from Eater Boston indicates that Glass House is now open, with a Facebook post from the restaurant saying that it is "an everyday restaurant, bar, and modern day meeting house."]
