Falafel Inc. May Be Expanding to Boston

A new cheap eats spot in Washington, DC, that is also looking to help people in need could be on its way to the local area.

According to an article on the WTOP site, Falafel Inc., which recently opened in the Georgetown section of the city, is planning an expansion to both Boston and Palo Alto, CA, with the dining spot focusing on Palestinian-style falafel sandwiches that cost $3.00 along with $4.00 falafel bowls and a variety of sides such as hummus and tabbouleh salad. The post says that founder Ahmad Ashkar--who is the son of Palestinian immigrants--has a mission to help people by selling the food items sold at the dining spot, where every $10 spent at Falafel Inc. feeds a refugee for a day via donations to the World Food Programme.

WTOP says that most of the recipes used for the foods offered at  Falafel Inc. come from Ashkar's mother and grandmother.
