Santa Banta in Waltham Reopening as Singh Saab in Arlington, Replacing Punjabi Tadka

A now-closed Indian eatery on Waltham's "Restaurant Row" is reopening with a new name--and in another location.

The Tables section of The Boston Globe mentions that Santa Banta--which had been located on Moody Street--is returning as Singh Saab, with the restaurant opening in the Punjabi Tadka space on Mass. Ave. in Arlington Center. According to a post, it looks like the new spot should be opening at the end of June.

As reported earlier, the former Santa Banta space in Waltham is being taken over by Moody's Deli, which will open an oyster/ceviche bar within the space. (Moody's will also open a BBQ/taco spot next door in the space where a Haitian market had been.)

Punjabi Tadka had been in Arlington Center since 2012.

The address for this new Indian restaurant in Arlington is: Singh Saab, 444 Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington, MA, 02474.

[August 21 update: According to a Facebook post from the place, Singh Saab is now open in Arlington Center.]
