Wild Rice Vegan Cafe in Watertown Is Closing

One of the Boston area's relatively few vegan restaurants is closing its doors.

According to a Facebook post from the place, Wild Rice Vegan Cafe on Elm Street in Watertown is shutting down for good on Sunday, June 18, with the note saying that "It is with a heavy heart that we announce today that Wild Rice Vegan Cafe will be closing....A BIG thank you to our loyal patrons over the past year and a half." The post refers customers to its other dining spot--Red Lentil Vegan & Vegetarian Restaurant on Mount Auburn Street.

Wild Rice Vegan Cafe first opened in December of 2015, taking over the space where an Italian restaurant called Grappa had been.

The address for Wild Rice Vegan Cafe is 71 Elm Street, Watertown, MA, 02472.

Thanks to a source for initially bringing this to our attention.
