Pizzeria Regina in Peabody Has Closed

One of the best-known pizzerias in New England has shut down one of its locations.

According to a source, Pizzeria Regina at the Northshore Mall in Peabody is no longer in business, with a Twitter post from the mall confirming this, indicating that it apparently closed late this summer. It looks like its other locations--including the original in Boston's North End along with outlets in Faneuil Hall, South Station, the Fenway, Allston, Braintree, Burlington, Danvers, Medford, and others beyond the immediate Boston area--all remain in operation, based on the restaurant's website.

The Thacher Street location of Regina's in the North End is considered by some to have the best pizza in the region; the restaurant first got its start back in 1926. (Its website can be found at http://www.pizzeriaregina.com/)
