Pho #1 Replacing Chilli Thai Bistro in Brighton

by Marc Hurwitz

It looks like a Vietnamese and Thai restaurant with a connection to two other Boston-area eateries is replacing a Thai spot in Brighton.

According to a licensing board hearing page within the City of Boston website, Pho #1 is looking to open in the Commonwealth Avenue space where Chilli Thai Bistro resides, with the listing stating that the parent company is Tawan Shine, Inc. and the manager would be Chanathip Tangmunkong. Both the company name and the manager are connected with Pho #1 in Woburn, according to a page on opencorporates.com, while an earlier blog entry from The Daily Lunch mentions that both the Woburn and Waltham locations of Pho #1 are connected.

The hearing is slated to take place on Wednesday, October 17, so more may be known on the opening of Pho #1 in the Chilli Thai Bistro space later next week.

The address for Chilli Thai Bistro (and the new Pho #1) is 1799 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, MA, 02135.

[April 18, 2019 update: Eater Boston states that Pho #1 is now open, and that it offers pho as well as items such as satay, banh mi, dumplings, and more.]
