Taste of Somerville Coming June 7, 2011

A culinary event returns to Somerville in June, and this year, some lesser-known ethnic dining spots will be participating.

An email sent to us by SCM Community Transportation indicates that Taste of Somerville 2011 will be held once again at the Holiday Inn on Washington Street on Tuesday, June 7, with the hours this year being 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. More than 30 restaurants will be participating this year (the event's 13th year, by the way), including such little-known spots as El Potro, Fasika, Maya Sol, and Rodizio Steakhouse as well as Diva Indian Bistro, Foundry On Elm, Mike's Restaurant, Olde Magoun's Saloon, Rudy's Cafe, and more.

Ticket to this event cost $30 in advance ($35 at the door) and can be purchased at the Somerville Theatre, Porter Square Books, or online. Proceeds from the 2011 Taste of Somerville will benefit Door2Door Transportation by SCM, a Davis Square-based not-for-profit that provides transportation for senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
