Royal Is Opening in Watertown

A new farm-to-table restaurant is on its way to a western suburb of Boston.

Eater Boston is reporting that Royal is planning on opening in Watertown, taking over the space on Lexington Street where Acapulco had been. According to the article, owners Melanie Nye and Rachid Kourda are hoping to raise funds via Kickstarter to get through the final stretch before they can open the dining spot, including the need for new kitchen equipment in order to meet code for the place. Expect to see New American and French fare at the 48-seat restaurant, which will be serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

EB says that two possible opening dates for Royal are January 1 and January 15.

[March 2 update: A new post from Eater Boston indicates that Royal has soft-opened, with a grand opening coming on Saturday (March 7).]

The address for this new restaurant in Watertown is: Royal, 45 Lexington Street, Watertown, MA, 02472.
