The NorthEndWaterfront.com site is reporting that the now-shuttered Italian market J. Pace & Son on Cross Street is going to be torn down by property owner Joseph Pace, with the plan being to replace it with a parking lot that has 12 spaces. The article says that a "temporary" sandwich shop could set up along with the parking lot, and that a building could be constructed at the site at some point in time. The North End location of J. Pace & Son had been in business for more than 40 years.
Locations of J. Pace & Son remain in operation in Boston's West End, Park Lane in the Seaport District, and Main Street in Saugus; the website for Pace can be found at http://jpaceandson.com/
