Update: Bee's Knees in Allston Has Closed

A gourmet market in Allston has abruptly shut its doors, and its other location in Fort Point may be going the same route as well.

According to a source, Bee's Knees Supply Company on Commonwealth Avenue is closed, with a Twitter post confirming this, showing that the windows are papered over. Our source says that the original location of the shop on Farnsworth Street will apparently be shuttering as well, though this has not been completely confirmed as of yet.

The Allston location of Bee's Knees first opened last summer, with the space including a deli, juice bar, craft beers and wine, coffee, and more. The Fort Point shop, which has been open since 2013, was in the news last fall as it appeared that the store was on the selling block.

The address for this now-closed market in Allston was: Bee's Knees Supply Company, 1314 Commonwealth Avenue, Allston, MA, 02134. The website for Bee's Knees is at http://www.beeskneessupply.com/

[July 6 update: According to multiple sources, one of the people behind Bee's Knees has apparently left town, though others involved with the business are still in the area.]

[July 7 update: The mystery continues to deepen with Bee's Knees, as a Twitter post yesterday from the place that said it had indeed closed has been deleted, and a new post is now saying that it is "currently closed for renovations and we are coming back with revamped menu and grocery offerings soon!!!" There has been some chatter that the post could refer to its Fort Point location, but the Fort Point store remains open, so it appears this post refers to its Allston shop.]
