Susu Bakery & Cafe in Wellesley to Close

A suburban bakery-cafe that has been in business for more than 15 years is shutting down.

Eater Boston is reporting (via The Swellesley Report) that Susu Bakery & Cafe in Wellesley is closing for good on July 15, with a note from owner Suzanne Aylward saying that "It's time to say goodbye....It's simple but it's not easy. We've had some wonderful times and were fortunate to work alongside some great, talented cooks and bakers and formed life long friendships through this shop....I am humbled to have been part of your lives and memories. I will cherish that as I move on to my next chapter." The note goes on to say that everything in the Washington Street shop will be going up for sale, including furnishings, art, pots, and pans.

Susu Bakery & Cafe, which first opened in 2000, is known for its pastries and baked goods, along with soups, salads, sandwiches, coffee, tea, and more. (The shop has also featured live music on Friday nights.)

The address for this soon-to-close bakery-cafe in Wellesley is: Susu Bakery & Cafe, 575 Washington Street, Wellesley, MA, 02482.
