Bon Me, Pavement Coffeehouse Opening in the Smith Center in Cambridge's Harvard Square

Last month, we reported that a local group of bakery-cafes was planning to open a location in a  Cambridge building that is currently undergoing a large-scale transformation. Now we have learned that two more local spots could be opening there as well.

According to a Harvard Square Advisory Committee page, Bon Me and Pavement Coffeehouse are both looking to open within Harvard University's Smith Campus Center on Mass. Ave., with the proposed outlets joining a location of Swissbakers if all goes as planned. A meeting with the Harvard Square Advisory Committee is taking place on October 23 to discuss both Board of Zoning Appeal cases, while the BZA is expected to hear the cases on October 26.

Bon Me is a group of Vietnamese food trucks and brick-and-mortar eateries at Boston Public Market, the Back Bay, Fort Point, Fresh Pond and Kendall Square in Cambridge, and Chestnut Square in Chestnut Hill [ed note--the Chestnut Hill location is now closed];  Pavement Coffeehouse has six locations in Boston, including in the Back Bay, the Fenway, by BU, and in Allston.

Thanks to a source for initially bringing this to our attention.
