A new restaurant is on its way to South Boston, and it looks like it has a connection to another dining spot in the neighborhood.
According to a source, Backyard Betty's is planning to open on W Broadway, with a licensing board hearing page confirming this, showing that the proposed eatery would have seating for approximately 137, both dining areas and bar areas, and about 5,165 square feet of space. The manager listed for Backyard Betty's is Theo Bougas, who is involved with Publico on Dorchester Street, and the parent company listed for the place is The Family Restaurant Partners LLC, whose principals are Dave Winick and Dave Matteo, according to a Bizapedia page. (A bostonplans.org page shows that Winick and Matteo were both involved in the development of 11 Dorchester Street, which is where Publico resides.) No other information seems to be available on Backyard Betty's at this point in time, so keep checking back for updates.
The address for this proposed restaurant in South Boston is: Backyard Betty's, 172-174 W Broadway, South Boston, MA, 02127.
