A group of axe-throwing facilities that include alcohol will be expanding to the Boston area as soon as this summer.
Eater Boston is reporting (via BizBash) that Philadelphia-based Urban Axes is planning to open in the Union Square section of Somerville, with the place including a full bar and having room for 80 to 100 people. The upcoming location will apparently be available for groups or corporate events and walk-in hours will be offered as well, and there will be axe-throwing leagues of all levels. The posts mention that workers will give safety information and oversee patrons who are throwing the 1.5-pound hatchets, which are aimed at wooden targets that have bullseyes.
