It looks like a local chain of bakery-cafes is shutting down one of its most popular locations in the Greater Boston area.
According to several sources (including Ron Newman, who brought this to our attention on the Davis Square Facebook group page), Au Bon Pain is closing its outlet on Holland Street in the heart of the square, with all of the sources posting an email sent to them that simply says "Au Bon Pain located at Davis Square Somerville, MA is closing permanently." We have reached out to the company to find out if any other locations are closing locally and will post any updates we receive.
Au Bon Pain, which is headquartered in the Seaport District of Boston, has closed down other locations of late, including one in Cambridge's Central Square and another in Boston's Beach Hill/West End area late last year.
