Pasha Opens in Arlington
Arlington is now home to a new Turkish and Mediterranean restaurant. Pasha opened this week in the spot on Massachusetts Avenue that was formerly home to Tsunami, a Japanese restaurant that closed earlier this spring. It is a full-service dining spot with a handful of tables in its small but attractive dining area. The menu at Pasha is extensive, with dishes such as red lentil soup, hummus, roasted eggplant, falafel, beef and lamb kebabs, grilled lamb chops, musakka, rolled anchovies, and cindered beef. Prices for appetizers are all under $10, while entrees are all under $20.The address for this new restaurant just outside of Arlington Center is: Pasha Turkish Mediterranean Cuisine, 669A Mass. Avenue, Arlington, MA 02476. The phone number is (781) 648-5888. And the Web site is:

I ate there this evening, and let me tell you. Absolutely incredible! For its first Saturday night, the place was packed. I was impressed by the gracious owner, who made my date and myself feel right at home. The ambiance was wonderful. Two thumbs up! If your in the mood for something different, and out of this world, then try Pasha!
I ate at Pasha in Arlington yesterday. I had read good things and was very eager to try the new place. I had a reservation and arrived 3 minutes late... they had already given away my table and I had to wait almost 20 minutes for them to clear another one. There was only 1 person working... she was very nice but was doing everything... setting and cleaning tables, taking orders, serving food, handling the bar, etc. There were also 2 men on staff and I did not see them do any work the whole time I was there. Needless to say by the time I was sat at my table the service took FOREVER! We got drinks and a yogurt dip (which was good but only came with a few tiny pieces of bred... for 4 people). We then waited for her to come back to take our order and when I ordered my food I was told they were out of the meat (beef and lamb) it was about 6pm on a Sunday... a bit early to be out of ingredients. So I ordered something else as well as ordering salads for the table. Our salads were OK but were served on a hot plate so that they were warm and a little wilted. My chicken dish was edible at best and my mother's grilled salmon was served to her RAW! We sent it back and a while later is was returned DEEP FRIED! They denied that it had been fried and also refused to make good on ther error, charging us for a replacement meal. As I said the girl who waited our tables was doing her best for the CRAZY work load they gave her but the management is TERRIBLE, food poor and the overall experience was very bad. I give it two thumbs WAY DOWN and am very disappointed to do so.

I have lived in Turkey for a long time and Turkish cousin has always fascinated me. I have craved for the taste of Turkish Food here in Boston and having tried the dishes at Pasha, felt that the taste of the food was no different from what I had eaten back in Turkey. I personally think that this place is a ligitimate competition to all the high priced restuarants offering meditterenean food. I am the kind that appreciates the food more then the flamboyant services offered that come with a price, hence If people want to taste Turkish cousine, I guess Pasha is the place to start, it has a standard that can't be easily attained.
