Bear Rock Cafe Closes in Reading

A small chain of sandwich shops that concentrates mostly on healthy fare has closed its Reading, MA, location. The Bear Rock Cafe, a dining spot that also had a location in nearby Woburn that closed last year (where Masa now resides), has closed its only remaining Boston-area restaurant in the 128 Marketplace shopping center just north of Route 128.

The Bear Rock Cafe chain used to have restaurants in 11 states, but now appears to be in only 4 states (Florida, North Carolina, Pennsyvania, and Virginia), according to their website. The chain of quick-casual dining spots focuses mostly on freshly-made soups, salads, and sandwiches.

As of now, there doesn't seem to be anything moving into the spot vacated by the Bear Rock Cafe in Reading. As we receive more information on the space, we will post an update here.
