Last month, we reported that Robyn's Bar and Grill in Roslindale closed its doors, and now it looks like the folks behind an Irish pub in Norwood will be opening another pub within the former Robyn's space.
According to the West Roxbury Transcript and Wicked Local, the owners of Napper Tandy's on Day Street in Norwood are hoping to open a "neighborhood Irish pub" on Washington Street where Robyn's had been for about four years. The article mentions that the proposed pub, which does not yet have a name, is not quite a done deal yet, though the husband-and-wife team behind it have apparently completed the licensing process with the city of Boston and have the contract to purchase the space, which is at the northern edge of Roslindale Village.
[March 16, 2012 update: Eater Boston reports that the name of the new pub coming to Roslindale will also be Napper Tandy's, and it may be opening in the next five or six weeks.]
[June 28, 2012 update: According to a poster on the Hiddenboston Twitter page, Napper Tandy's apparently opened last night, with only the front room being open, and a small menu for now.]
The address for this new Irish pub is 4195 Washington Street, Roslindale, MA, 02131. The website for Napper Tandy's in Norwood can be found at http://www.nappertandysnorwood.com/
