Bhindi Bazaar in Boston's Back Bay Has Closed

The intersection of Newbury Street and Mass. Ave. in Boston's Back Bay continues to empty out, as yet another restaurant in the block has shut its doors.

According to several sources (including Adam's Hospitality and Tourism Industry Blog), Bhindi Bazaar on Mass. Ave. is now closed, making this the third dining spot to shut down in that block over the past couple of months. In March, Island Hopper closed down, while in April, the Otherside Cafe shuttered. (A nearby J.P. Licks branch also recently closed, along with other businesses in the block, including a Best Buy.)

Bhindi Bazaar featured a mix of Indian fare, including Southern Indian dishes (dosas, utthapam), Northern Indian items (saagwala, korma, kadahi), and coastal specialties (xacuti, vindaloo). It was open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.

The address for this now-closed Indian restaurant in the Back Bay was: Bhindi Bazaar, 95 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston, MA, 02115.
