Is Boston Going to Be Getting a Floating Restaurant?

It looks like more space along the South Boston waterfront is going to be developed, and one of the plans floating around (no pun intended) is for a restaurant literally located on the water.

The Boston Herald is reporting that Wharf 8 and Pier 7, which are located between Liberty Wharf and the Bank of America Pavilion, are being looked at by city planners for redevelopment, with the city seeking bids on the space. The article mentions that planners are considering the possibility of bringing new dining spots to the space, with other ideas including a hotel and retail shops. One particularly interesting idea that was mentioned is having a floating restaurant somewhere within the site, presumably just off the wharf and/or the pier (which is currently a submerged pile of boards).

The adjacent Liberty Wharf has become one of Boston's hottest spots for dining, with Temazcal Tequila Cantina, Legal Harborside, Jerry Remy's, and Del Frisco's all calling the complex their home.

Thanks to Eater Boston for bringing this to our attention.
