Brookline Spa Has Closed; Reopening in the Works

A market and deli in Brookline that is known in part for its sandwiches and pizza is currently closed for renovations, and it is not known what might be happening to the place.

According to a poster on the Chowhound site, the Brookline Spa on Harvard Street is shuttered, with a sign out front saying it is closed for renovations (their website also says it is closed for "renovations and updates." A Yelp poster says that the word on the street is it will not be reopening--and that Groupon is offering refunds for the spot--but we have not yet been able to confirm this.

[February 19, 2014 update: The Yelp page for the Brookline Spa says that it will reopen on February 28, while the market's Facebook page has a banner saying that "the new Spa returns in 2014." There is currently no word on what renovations/changes are coming, so stay tuned for updates. (Thanks to @BostonTweet for letting us know about the progress being made to the place.]

The Brookline Spa has been in operation for nearly 20 years, offering such items as salads, sandwiches, pizza, pasta dishes, and breakfast items.
