Memphis Joe's Barbecue Replaces Martini's Restaurant in Weymouth

A BBQ spot has opened on the South Shore, replacing a restaurant that focused mainly on Italian-American fare.

According to one of our readers, Memphis Joe's Barbecue is now open in Weymouth, taking over the spot on Washington Street where Martini's Restaurant had been. (It appears that the owners of Martini's may also be behind the new eatery, but this has not been confirmed as of yet.) The new dining spot features a variety of barbecue items, with chili, wings, brisket, pulled pork, burnt ends, macaroni and cheese, chicken and waffles, dry-rubbed ribs, and fried catfish all being on the menu.

A few years ago, Martini's was reviewed within the blog section of our sister site (Boston's Hidden Restaurants), with the review being at the following link:

The address for the now-closed Martini's (and the new Memphis Joe's Barbecue) is 450 Washington Street (Route 53). Weymouth, MA, 02188. Its website can be found at http://memphisjoes.com/

It is the same owner and management. They remodeled the building and switched up the concept. They kept a few of the more popular menu items from Martini's, but it is mostly a new menu. The BBQ is prepared in a new smoker that they installed on site.
