Boston.com is reporting that Aurum is planning to have a grand opening this Saturday in the space on Centre Street in Hyde Square where Kennedy's Fried Chicken used to be. The article says that owner Matthew Virzi and manager Andrea Belanger are offering dishes inspired by foods they ate when they were growing up in Worcester and Fall River, respectively, with Lebanese meat pies and Syrian dough pockets apparently featured, along with beet chips, deep-fried cauliflower, a dish called "The Della" (a meal with portobello mushrooms, carrots, onions, and zucchini, on a bed of quinoa), and more.
The address for this new restaurant in Jamaica Plain is: Aurum, 377A Centre Street, Jamaica Plain, MA, 02130.
