According to a job post on the Craigslist site, The Taco Truck is planning on opening a permanent restaurant in Cambridge, with the place expected to open this summer. Earlier we had heard that the dining spot could be opening in Malden, but that may have fallen through--though the job post does say that they will be opening "multiple locations" in the Boston area.
[January 14 update: Eater Boston mentions (via a Board of Zoning Appeal Agenda page on the City of Cambridge website) that The Taco Truck will be moving into The Garage on Mt. Auburn Street in Harvard Square, taking over the space that Felipe's is vacating (Felipe's is moving to Brattle Street).]
[March 3 update: A License Commission General Hearing page on the City of Cambridge gives more information on The Taco Truck opening in The Garage; the post indicates that the restaurant would have a capacity of 31 (plus four patio seats outside) and proposed hours of 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM Sunday through Thursday and 10:00 AM to 2:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays. It also appears that the eatery will not be serving alcohol.]
[May 29 update: According to a Twitter post from @EatBoston, The Taco Truck's brick-and-mortar restaurant will officially open this Saturday (May 31).]
The Taco Truck currently has restaurants in two New Jersey communities--Hoboken and Morristown--as well as trucks in New Jersey and Boston. (They also have a seasonal kiosk on the High Line in Manhattan.) Their website is at http://www.thetacotruck.com/
