Ban Chiang House in Jamaica Plain Has Closed; New Restaurant to Move In

A Thai restaurant has closed in Jamaica Plain, though a new dining spot featuring Vietnamese food could be moving in.

The Jamaica Plain News is reporting that Ban Chiang House on Centre Street is no longer in operation, having closed sometime over the past week or so. It appears that a Vietnamese noodle shop may be taking over the space where the eatery had been, though plans are in the early stages, with one necessary step being the owner of the proposed eatery meeting with the Public Service Committee of the JP Neighborhood Council, according to the article.

[March 20 update: A new article in the Jamaica Plain News mentions that the spot moving into the former Ban Chiang space will be a Vietnamese and Thai restaurant owned by the folks behind Pho & I on Huntington Avenue near Symphony Hall, with the eatery possibly opening by June. (Thanks to Universal Hub for bringing this to our attention.)]

[March 27 update: A Licensing Board page within the City of Boston website indicates that the new restaurant moving into the Ban Chiang House space will tentatively be called Noodle Barn.]

The address for this now-closed Thai dining spot in Jamaica Plain is: Ban Chiang House, 707 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain, MA, 02130.
