Kathmandu Spice in Arlington Is Closing; Zhu to Replace It

It looks like a Nepalese restaurant in the northwest suburbs of Boston is going to be closing its doors, and a new dining spot is planning to move into the space.

According to a post in the Arlington Advocate, Kathmandu Spice in East Arlington is going to be home to Zhu, which was granted a license to operate in the Mass. Ave. space. At this point in time, very little is known about the new eatery other than the fact that the newspaper says it will be a vegan restaurant (keep checking back for updates).

[May 26 update: A note sent from Rich O's Ravings indicates that Kathmandu Spice is now closed, and that Zhu will indeed be opening in the space (it looks like Zhu will be a Pan-Asian vegan restaurant).]

[July 23 update: According to a poster on the Chowhound site (and confirmed on the Boston Vegetarian Society Facebook page), Zhu will have its grand opening party on Saturday (July 25).]

Kathmandu Spice has been a dining spot that our sister site (Boston's Hidden Restaurants) has featured as an under-the-radar spot to go to for Nepalese, Tibetan, and Indian fare. The review can be found at the following link:

The address for Kathmandu Spice (and the new Zhu) is 166 Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington, MA, 02474.
