Mandy and Joe's Restaurant in Brighton Is Closing

A comfort food spot with classic diner fare is getting ready to close its doors after being in business for nearly 70 years.

According to a press release sent to us by Brighton Main Streets, Mandy and Joe's Restaurant in Brighton Center is shutting down for good on Sunday, March 29, with a note from Brighton Main Streets indicating that the owners are planning to retire. Mandy and Joe's first opened on Washington Street in 1948 by brothers Armando and Joseph Marino, with Joseph's son Richard Marino and his wife Ingrid taking over the eatery in the early 2000s. The dining spot offered such items as knockwurst sandwiches, cheeseburgers, chicken pot pie, liver and bacon, fish cakes and beans, and apple pie.

The address for this soon-to-close restaurant in Brighton Center is: Mandy and Joe's, 328 Washington Street, Brighton, MA, 02135.
